In an age of fast answers,
is distraction something to overcome?

We redefine distraction not as a deficit, but as an active ‘survival mechanism’ and ‘energy state’ humanity has chosen.

In 2060, a future excavation team sets up a research lab (field base). Where the two earlier Seoul exhibitions were the archaeological ‘dig site’ itself, this Jeju exhibition expands that world into a base camp. The visitor becomes a future researcher of maximal efficiency, investigating the cognitive habits of the past ‘Sanman species (us).’

Yet in this investigation the visitor is both observer and subject. Amid the flood of AI’s fast answers, Studio Sanman returns us to the ‘capacity to question’ we have lost — through ‘unfinished questions’ rather than ‘clear answers.’

About

Studio Sanman is a collective of four visual artists — Kim Yanghee · Yuri · Alex · Taekim — exploring multi-layered perspectives and non-linear thinking, departing from fixed viewpoints and flattened interpretation.

Moving freely across video, installation, spatial design, and graphics, they develop experimental work that dissolves the boundaries between media.
